We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join our growing team. The individual in this position will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and is expected to be a conceptual thinker with broad analytical, organizational and conflict management skills. This role requires strong negotiation and problem solving skills with the ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment with a lot of moving parts. This role is critical to building upon significant groundwork laid towards more fully becoming a healthy, happy and values-driven organization. A successful  HR Generalist will exhibit strong decision-making skills with deep understanding of employee relationships, staffing, management and training. Top candidates will be comfortable managing grey areas, effective at scheduling and methodical in the recruitment process. The main focus will be to help form and manage a growing, efficient, happy, and profitable team within a very best place to work.

 

HR Generalist Responsibilities:

• Manage all internal and external HR related matters.
• Participate in maintaining and developing organizational handbooks, guidelines and procedures.
• Recommend and orchestrate strategies to motivate employees.
• Manage the recruitment process by identifying candidates, conducting reference checks and issuing employment contracts.
• Investigate complaints brought forward by employees.
• Coordinate employee development plans, reviews and performance management.
• Perform orientations and update records of new staff.
• Plans and orchestrates employee engagement activities and budgets.
• Manage the organization’s employee database and prepare reports.
• Produce and submit reports on general HR activity.
• Assist with budget monitoring, payroll, perks, 401(K) and benefits.
• Maintain knowledge of the latest HR trends and best practice.
• Communicate monthly progress, issues, and resolutions to CEO

 

HR Generalist Requirements:

 

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related (essential).
• Minimum 3 years of experience as an HR Coordinator (essential).
• Experience working in a marketing or hourly billable services organization (preferred)
• Deep understanding of Labor Law and employment equity regulations.
• Comprehensive HR administration and people management skills.
• Efficient record keeping skills.
• Practical knowledge of HR functions and best practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Works comfortably under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
• Expert-level computer literacy with capability in email, MS Office and related HR software (GoCo).
• Proven organizational and conflict management skills.
• Strong decision-making and problem solving skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• HR professional certification is a plus (HRCI-PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent).
