Our Plumbing Service Manager will:
Managing all areas of the service department, including assisting with developing and achieving the service department goals for revenue, 5 Star Client Satisfaction, safety, labor, and material costs.
To achieve these goals the Service Manager will forecast needs for resources including personnel, equipment, tools, and training.
As the manager, they will be responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, and motivating each member of their team to success, as well as maintaining the appropriate amount of personnel to achieve goals. Doing so within the budgeted cost structure.
Service Manager Duties:
Training -- Meet with technicians once per week at the minimum, making sure that the technicians fully understand and are fully trained on their needed contributions to achieve the company plan. Training to include communications training, technical,and administrative.
Making sure that all production personnel are following OSHA safety standards and that team members are safety conscious at all times. Cover at least one safety issue in each weekly meeting and conduct a major safety training meeting at least once per quarter.
Making sure that team members display a positive team spirit at all times and are committed to the 5 Star Service standard for company’s clients.
Supervising – Once expectations have been explained and there has been training, you must check to make sure that things are being done properly. The team members need to know that you are intent on following these operational standards. Inspect what you Expect!
Dispatching – Make sure techs are making best use of time and have the best tech scheduled for the best jobs.
Motivating – Be a leader for the technicians. Show them that you are willing to do anything that they are asked to do. Help each associate to see where the company is headed and how important they are in helping it grow. Be an optimist! Be enthusiastic! Always teach the technicians to look for why something WILL work, instead of why it WON’T work
Administrating – Make sure that you understand and follow the guidelines for reporting procedures and paperwork. Be neat and detailed in your paperwork. Keep a calendar of when different reports are due. Make sure that employee matters are handled immediately.
Recruiting -- Continually recruit new technicians. Plan in advance to assure you have the assets needed for each seasonal change by department.
