          Job Description

          Job Title: OUAC Floor Manager

          Summary

          OUAC'S: Sells and buys infants' and children's wearing apparel, nursery furniture, bedding, and toys by performing the following duties in a managerial role.

          All duties on the Sales Associate's, Buyer's, and Key Holders job description are inherently part of the Floor Manager's job description as well.

          Essential Duties and Responsibilities includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

          Promotes a high level of customer service by ensuring customers are assisted in an enthusiastic, timely, and knowledgeable manner. Responsible for inventory rotation and store appearance which includes but not limited to: rack, shoe, accessories, toys equipment and mannequin maintenance. The Floor manager will develop a system that includes the entire staff for maintaining store appearance. Works with management to establish schedules, evaluate staff, and implement development plans.  Assists with training.  Follows all company handbook and store policies.

          Competencies

          To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following:

          Inventory Rotation- Execute OUAC Clearance Strategy using the detailed calendar and rotation system set forth by the Company.  Work with management team and staff to rotate the inventory and organize back stock and oversee clearance events and sales. Restocking inventory as needed.  Pulling inventory that is overstocked.  Sorting inventory that is newly purchased to the backroom rotation system.  Developing a plan to account for all inventory in tubs.  Develop a plan for newly purchased inventory. Communicate rotation with warehouse.  Executes loose tag program.  Orders inventory from offsite storage (or pod) and audits warehouse (pod) log

          Racks: - are organized at all times.  Develop a system for the store associates to partner with this including displays, windows, endcaps etc.  The merchandising responsibilities are for all seasons.  Is comfortable running reports for space allocation and floor set flips.  Is responsible for all appropriate rack signage

          Supplies- Forecasts needs of store by analyzing current trends and/or past history.  Responsible for ordering store supplies timely and efficiently. Uses supply order form to inform the office of store needs.  Receives supplies and notifies the office of all discrepancies.  Follows all procedures for ordering and using the office system for accountability.  Communicates with Warehouse supervisor with supply inventory.

          Training:  Supports the management team in all aspects of training and retraining new hires/season associates with an emphasis on "floor" duties including but not limited to rack order, hanging, tagging, and fitting rooms and store maintenance.  Teaches loose tag program.

          Clearance- Understands the current inventory/clearance strategy.  Has a plan for execution of the clearance program and has clearance marked by the deadline.


          Buying- Assist Buy Manager with overstock reports and clearance cycle.  Communicates to the Buy Manager style and overstock issues.

          Merchandise Presentation- Merchandise store with appropriate displays and signage.  Change signage seasonally and promote the clearance cycle with appropriate advertising.  Merchandise the store with used product to help increase sales.

          Achieve Sales & Financial Goals- Meet and exceed sales forecasts as determined by the Company.  Meet and exceed goals for gross and net profit forecasts, and minimum gross margin targets as determined by the Company.  Maintain all controllable expenses within established budgetary guidelines including store supplies, local marketing, employee incentive, utility and payroll budgets.

          Paperwork/Managerial Duties:  Uses the open/close audit to consistently check on store readiness.  Update store Plan-Sales & Results workbook cut or add hours as needed.  Conduct informal interviews as necessary and schedule first trial shift.  Complete month close paperwork if necessary.  Understands the weekly/monthly sales and productivity goals for the store.

          Cooperation- Establishes and maintains effective relations; exhibits tact and consideration; offers help and support to co-workers; works cooperatively in group situations.

          Managing Customer Focus- Promotes customer focus; establishes customer service standards; monitors customer satisfaction.

          Teamwork- Puts success of team above own interests; supports everyone's efforts to succeed.   Partners with the Marketing Manager on supplies needed for floor or backroom and communicates needs to office.  

          Coaching:  Is instrumental in coaching in the moment.  Utilizes tools to acknowledge positive behavior as well as negative behavior.  Is comfortable using all tools available for proper documentation.  Engage and inform staff by conducting meetings as necessary.  Helps facilitate the monthly store meetings.   Attends annual meeting(s) with owner   

          Quality Management- Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness when buying used merchandise with consideration to condition, style, and inventory on hand.

          Ethics- Treats people with respect; works with integrity and principles; upholds organizational values.

          Sales Skills- Maintains customer satisfaction; maintains records and promptly submits information. Able to explain reasoning behind purchasing decisions. Follows company motto, 'We want our customers to want to come back'.
