Position is in support of the U.S. Army CCDC C5ISR Center Sustaining Base Network Assurance Branch (SBNAB). The Systems Administrator IV (Linux) maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network engineers. Monitors and manages system resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, and response times to maintain operating efﬁciency. Performs systems security administration functions, including creating user proﬁles and accounts. Other duties may include setting up administrator accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. May be assigned responsibility for less experienced staff. Career level with a complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts. Working under only general direction, provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions.
The System Administrator IV (Linux) has experience in managing security programs for a variety of IT products, systems and networks both small and large and complex. Is able to ensure that records are maintained, security updates are promulgated, and staff are properly briefed. Experience in coordinating with organizational security teams to ensure program consistency and compliance with all security requirements. Has a thorough knowledge of organizational and agency level security requirements and ensures that systems and personnel comply with these standards.
1. Bachelor's (or equivalent) with 8 yrs of experience, or a Master's and 6 yrs of experience.
2. Requires active TS/SCI clearance.
3. Requires current Information Assurance Technical (IAT)-II or higher certification (CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, or GCIH) and current Computing Environment certification IAW DoD 8570.01-M.
4. Requires Windows Operating System Security certification or 3+ years of Windows OS administration.
5. Requires experience with managing Windows Operating Systems and security programs.
