Position is in support of the U.S. Army CCDC C5ISR Center Sustaining Base Network Assurance Branch (SBNAB). Program objective is to address today's cyber threats by designing and deploying game-changing cyber defense capabilities that allow organizations to defend better, react faster, coordinate rapidly, prioritize efforts, and respond smarter to security events, increased risks, and/or operational directives.
Description: Provide technical expertise on cloud cluster computing techniques and technologies and expert advice to the program, and related cloud computing architectures. Optimize memory management identifying the best ways to develop distributed cluster-enabled and graph processing algorithms. Assist customers with data integration and migration efforts, including mapping schemas, performing RDF translations, and defining domain specific ontologies, where applicable. Develop large data technologies, algorithms, and applications for clients. Research, evaluate, and deploy advanced cloud computing systems and large data analytics for clients in research and production areas. Work with massive data sets, complex algorithms, and team members from a variety of specialties to solve clients' hardest problems. Support a range of clients from front line analysts to researchers and senior leadership. Work as a key contributor on a collaborative, fast-growing, and highly skilled software development team. Experience with information extraction and analysis techniques, practices, and algorithms. Knowledge of a variety of advanced computer science and mathematical concepts, practices, and procedures associated with the analysis of large datasets, from indexing schemes to statistical tests-Knowledge of Cloud computing, Hadoop or MapReduce, Netezza, Vertica, BigTable, Pig, Terradata, or Amazon Web Services-Ability to obtain a security clearance. Experience with data mining or machine learning preferred. Apply expert knowledge in computer science, particularly in the Semantic Web and cloud computing environments. Considered an emerging authority, who applies extensive technical expertise. Develops technical solutions to complex problems. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment. A Senior cloud engineer has experience with the architecture, design and implementation process with the major Cloud Service Providers. The Senior Cloud Engineer must be able to learn about new cloud technologies and understand how to implement cyber security services within current and new environments. A Senior Cloud Engineer must be able to work with Cloud Service Providers and other CSSP members to architect Defensive Cyber Operations capabilities to be used at all levels of the Department of Defense.
1. Bachelor's (or equivalent) with 8 yrs of experience, or a Master's and 6 yrs of experience.
2. Requires active TS/SCI clearance.
3. Requires current Information Assurance IT-III Certification (CASP+ CE, CCNA-Security, CISA, CISSP (or associate), GCED, GCIH) and current Computing Environment certification IAW DoD 8570.01-M.
