    SHIPPING AND RECEIVING CLERK
    Monday – Friday
    11:00pm – 7:00am
    $15.00 per hour

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    •    Receive BOL from truck driver and determine PO number.
    •    Print "Receiving Checklist" from JD Edwards and inventory truck. 
    •    Check for wood quality and notify Supervisor of any irregularities.
    •    Print placards from scan gun and placard white wood inventory.
    •    Remove any mill placards found.
    •    Receive new inventory into computer on JD Edwards using "Work with Shipments".
    •    File receiving paperwork in correct bin at office for Office Manager to retrieve.
    •    Collect any return paperwork, inventory returned items, and notify supervisor of any issues.
    •    Ensure returned items are either placed up front with proper return placards, back into the correct inventory bin or placed in salvage yard based on guidance from Supervisor.
    •    Receive any specialty deck items using PO order and checklist. A sales representative or specialty deck handler have be present during inventory of truck.
    •    Notify Treating Office if a "Hot Load" has been received.
    •    Label any white wood needed to fulfill sales orders.
    •    Assist Shipping Clerk with any additional duties.
    •    Ensure truck drivers are following plant safety by wearing proper PPE {Safety Vest and Boots) and adhering to the traffic rules.
    •    Communicate with shipping that dedicated carriers are delivering and need to be reloaded.
    •    Sync with before and after shift supervisor to go over any outstanding issues.
    •    Receive pick tickets from Sales Office.
    •    Use Load Sheet on JD Edwards to prioritize loads leaving the Columbus plant. 1st shift will check the "Ship Window", "Delivery Window", and "City'' to help determine 1st, 2nd, and outside carriers. 2nd and 3rd shift will use the "Load Plan" published in the afternoon to confirm driver assignments.
    •    Assign loaders a pick ticket and have them scan the barcode. Confirm loaders are assigned by verifying on "Pick Ticket Assignments".
    •    Use scan gun to verify pick ticket load accuracy and correct end tags on packs.
    •    Placard each load with specific placards and Home Depot placards (if necessary). Home Depot loads will also require Home Depot inventory paperwork to be stapled on prior to departure.
    •    Print delivery paperwork and file according to driver assignment.
    •    Assist Receiving Clerk with any additional duties.
    •    Ensure truck drivers are following plant safety by wearing proper PPE (Safety Vest and Boots) and adhering to the traffic rules.
    •    Sync with before and after shift supervisor to go over any outstanding issues.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    •    Able to prioritize incoming trucks and differentiate between GLI and outside carriers.
    •    Able to understand JD Edwards and how to navigate "Work with Shipments" and "Inventory            Status".
    •    Able to use the scan gun to print inventory placards.
    •    Understanding of the white wood shed and where inventory is located.
    •    Knowledge of other plant personal and who to call to move inventory.
    •    Able to count number of packs on trailer and calculate pack size quantity.
    •    Able to identify damaged or poor quality wood.
    •    Understand how to read a BOL and where to find the PO#.
    •    Able to use email and label white wood inventory for sales.
    •    Required to sit and stand for various times throughout the day.
    •    Be able to climb a six foot ladder to placard new inventory.
    •    Be able to work outside in any weather environment.
    •    Be able to use hammer staple gun to placard inventory.
