Location: Amityville, New York
Pay Rate: $15/hour (Seasonal $17/hour due to COVID-19)
Shift: Mon-Fri 3:30PM-12:00AM
Our client in Amityville has great positions for Fork Lift Operators and is willing to move ASAP. These positions can be Temp-Perm for the right person.
The primary responsibility of the shipping staff is to accurately and effectively pull items from different storage locations to fill customer’s orders in accordance with the instruction on pick list. The individual is required to drive Hi-Low, power jacks and form lifts, utilize pallet transfers, scales, and stretch wrap machines. (Employee must have experience in operating Fork Lift).
Maintain a safe environment and comply with cGMPs
Follow SOPs during the receiving process. Ensure goods are properly inspected and accurately counted
Pick orders in an organized way to avoid errors during picking (following picking policy to match material, batch, and quantity)
Perform quality check on co-workers orders
On pallet orders; it is required to weigh, wrap, tag the pallet, and identify the city and state where the pallet is going
On parcel orders; it is required to master pack multiple boxes to minimize damage and freight cost. Follow proper packing procedures to avoid errors
Transfer loads from plastic to wooden pallets
Responsible for keeping non-authorized individuals outside the main warehouse. Instruct individuals to stay in the carriers waiting area and immediately notify your supervisor
Avoid error by mixing up shipping documents while loading trailers
Make sure products are always on the correct locations and racks are properly labeled
Immediately communicate to supervisors any found inconsistency on the product (i.e. pallet size, damage, missing labels, quantity discrepancy, etc.)
Maintain sure handling equipment is properly charged
Adheres and promotes safety policies. Wear harness and required safety equipment
Performs other related duties and special projects
Minimum of High school diploma or the equivalent
2+ Years of distribution, and/or warehouse experience
Ability to read and interpret labels, inventory sheets, and other related printed information, as well as to ensure picking the appropriate product.
Basic math skills with strong attention to detail including speed and accuracy in counting and verification
Ability to interact with co-workers in a positive, productive and cooperative manner encouraging teamwork is required
Good communication skills are a must
Flexibility to work in a variety of areas is essential
Experience using electronic scanning equipment is helpful
Ability to solve problems with a sense of urgency
