Providence is calling a Director Business Development (Hospital Administration, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. In this position you will:
Use independent judgment, effectively recommending and/or taking action related to interviewing, hiring, transferring, promoting, evaluating performance, and disciplinary action. Handles employee complaints and concerns. Supervises the daily workflow of Perioperative Services Information System Analysts and Registrars.
Monitor supply and product usage in compliance with Materials Management and participates as needed in the Value Analysis Committee. Provide processes to ensure adequate levels of inventory. Collaborate with Materials Management and clinical staff of Surgical Services in identifying areas for supply/utilization expense reductions.
Participate on committee as assigned in order to improve organizational systems, communications and operations. Participate in departmental performance improvement activities to ensure the development and implementation of processes which support quality care and effective work performance. Participate in all staff meetings and mandatory in-service and training programs to ensure continued understanding of all departmental policies, procedures and performance improvement processes.
Collaborate with the System Administrator of departmental computer systems (ie.HSM McKesson), including upgrades and implementation projects while maintaining knowledge in GAAP and other Finance computer systems. Assist clinical leadership in their access and understanding of the various financial systems available. Incorporates state-of-the-art systems and practices to enhance efficiency and patient care practices.
Maintain and create pricing strategies with Surgical Services leadership and Finance. Work with Chargemaster Coordinator to ensure accurate and timely charge capture. Must also be knowledgeable in relevant clinical coding to ensure appropriate charging.
Use independent judgment to assign and direct team members. Promoteand encourages decision making at the lowest possible level. Coach and support staff in a manner that supports teamwork and produces desired outcomes.
Collaborate with clinical leadership and Finance to develop sound financial strategies and business plans that support the acquisition of new business and compliments or enhances the current care delivery system.
Perform timely and efficient analysis for surgical service lines to include utilization of supplies by procedure and physician and to assist in business opportunities. Review margins for surgical services utilizing information from Decision Support to include patient demographics, third-party payors and costing information.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Master's degree in Business/Healthcare
5 years experience in healthcare
Must be computer literate
Must have demonstrated expertise in multiple computer software programs such as electronic spreadsheets, database applications and communication software.
Must be able to work cooperatively and communicate (written and verbal) effectively with others including non-business staff and clinicians.
Must be able to analyze and present financial data to clinical staff. Must be able to think critically and strategically
Must possess interpersonal skills to interact with business and clinical professionals, management, and physicians.
Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
