Systems Administrator Lead
The Lead Systems Administrator is responsible for operating the corporate on premise and cloud infrastructure reliably and at scale, as well as supporting the Director of IT serving as a team lead overseeing the day-to-day activities of the IT Support Specialist staff and serving as an escalation point for complex support tickets. Design and add feature enhancements to systems. Ensure that system operations are safe and efficient by monitoring system performance, coordinating planned maintenance, adjusting hardware and virtual components, and responding to system issues.
Engineering and Provisioning
This individual is accountable for the following system environments: Cloud Computing (Azure), On-Premise virtualization (ESXi and VMware), Storage (HPE StoreOnce and Simplivity), Data Protection and Disaster Recovery (Veeam and Simplivity), and the overall computing infrastructure in Microsoft Windows-based environments.
Install new / rebuild existing servers (cloud, virtual, and physical) and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.
Operations and Support
Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
Provide Tier III/other support per request from various constituencies. Investigate and troubleshoot issues.
Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the IT Support Specialist's on staff by monitoring day-to-day lights on tasks.
Provide emergency on-call 24 hours / 7 days week support (on a rotating basis).
Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure/add new services as necessary.
Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required in on-premise and cloud environments.
Developing, implementing, testing, and maintaining system level disaster recovery plans.

5 years of Windows administration in an enterprise environment.
5 years of experience in data protection (back up, restore, replication, DR - disaster recovery)
Must possess experience in Technical Leadership. Will be leading a team of 3-4 IT Support Specialists.
Must have advanced level knowledge of the concepts, practices, and procedures in the field of specialization.
Relevant knowledge of current and emerging technologies.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel, executive leadership, senior management, users, vendors, and subcontractor personnel.
Ability to consistently meet and exceed expectations and incorporate customer service into all aspects of work.
Proficient in determining the appropriate strategy for recoverability and continuity of business operations.
3 years of hyper-converged infrastructure administration using HPE Simplivity or similar technologies (e.g. Nutanix, Flexpod, Hyperflex, Atlantis, Cisco UCS, etc.).
Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field of study or equivalent experience.
7-10 (full-time) years of experience in a corporate environment.
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities; however, you will be a team lead overseeing day-to-day lights on activities performed by the IT Support Specialist staff.
This job operates in a professional office environment.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time, exempt level position.
This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required, which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. Some lifting up to 75 lbs. will be required.
Some light walking around the office and manufacturing facilities is necessary.
