        Job Title: Director of Equipment Operations

        Job Overview

        ESCO Construction Company, headquartered in beautiful Evergreen, Colorado is an established well-respected construction firm who is growing significantly, and we have an excellent opportunity for a Vice President / Director of Equipment Operations to join our team of professionals.

        The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the Heavy Construction Equipment industry working with medium to large sized companies performing a minimum of $100M in revenue and managing a fleet of over 200 pieces of large equipment. Our Director of Equipment will have the responsibility of leading and developing a team of 20+ maintenance, equipment, fuel, and administrative professionals. Previous experience with a high growth organization is required.

        We self-perform all types of civil construction such as earthwork, utilities, concrete flatwork, and concrete structures for both private and public clients. ESCO enjoys tackling diverse and challenging projects throughout Colorado and the surrounding states.

        Responsibilities and Duties

        • Redefine, develop, and improve the way we do business for equipment operations
        • Oversee six primary areas of equipment operations:
          • Acquisition and disposal of equipment
          • Compliance and risk management
          • Logistics
          • Field maintenance operations
          • Shop & yard operations
          • Fleet & asset management
        • Collaborate with Executive Management regarding divisional goals, market outlook, equipment requirements, capital expenditures, and manpower needs.
        • Ability to identify and recruit high-quality team members for all division positions.
        • Develop and mentor divisional staff.
        • Prepare and maintain division-level schedule for crew allocation and coordinate with all company divisions. 
        • Communicate professionally with clients, stakeholders, and internal departments.
        • Ensure division complies with all company safety and quality policies, practices, and procedures.
        • Participate in mitigating, managing and resolving conflicts to help minimize or eliminate the financial impacts to the company.
        • Develop and manage maintenance planning
        • Oversee maintenance records
        • Develop and manage component forecasts
        • Critical success factors:
          • Know your cost
          • Maximize mechanical availability
          • Stop equipment from breaking
          • Manage fleet age thresholds
        • Prepare, review, present monthly reports with equipment/maintenance specific KPI's.
        • 15+ years' experience in Heavy Civil Construction Equipment Operations
        • Strong Leadership/organizational skills
        • Strong computer skills, emphasis on Microsoft Office programs.
        • Financial and equipment cost accounting experience
        • Strong heavy equipment maintenance experience
