          Job Description

          ASSOCIATE VETERINARIAN POSITION. Full time (40+ hours) experienced veterinarian needed for fast paced small animal practice in Powder Springs, Georgia, located 20 minutes northwest of Atlanta. Must be independent, strong, friendly, and compassionate. Ability to work alone as well as part of a team. Applicant must provide excellent service to our clients, excellent medicine to our patients and have excellent communication and time management skills. We emphasize preventative care, early diagnosis, and client education. We have a great support staff and a friendly work environment. Well-equipped full-service hospital facility which includes in-house blood machines, tono-pen, fluid pumps, blood pressure monitors, pulse-oximetry, high speed dental equipment, digital radiography, and ultrasound. Job Responsibilities: Develop a rapport with clients and determine their needs and wishes; perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures in a way that will deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort. Explain physical examination findings and communicate to the client a diagnosis of the pet's problems; generate and present a treatment plan for the pet to the client; educate clients on preventative health care, including vaccines and appropriate nutritional products. Maintain client/patient medical/surgical records and make certain all necessary logs are kept up to date through established protocols; assist colleagues in follow-up and future management of the patient. Stay up to date with new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine, attend Continuing Education meetings. Other duties as assigned. Requirements 2+ years of veterinary experience and basic surgical skills are required.
