    Leidos is looking for an entry level Technology Support Specialist to work with our project team in maintaining an exceptional level of service in customer support for computing and network services, cyber security management, telecommunications, and database and systems administration at the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Environmental Management site in Paducah, KY.   Leidos is responsible for providing these services to our prime contractor and teaming partners as well as other U.S. Department of Energy prime contractors on site. 

    This position is an on-site position.

    The Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant (PGDP) was constructed in 1952 to produce enriched uranium, initially for the nation's nuclear weapons program and later for nuclear fuel for commercial power plants. The plant is owned by the Department of Energy (DOE), which oversees environmental cleanup activities at the site, including environmental remediation, waste management, depleted uranium conversion, and decontamination and decommissioning.

    Commercial enrichment was conducted under lease from 1993 until 2013 when operations ceased and the gaseous diffusion facilities were returned to the DOE Environmental Management (EM) program. EM has conducted extensive cleanup activities at the site since the late 1980s and is currently deactivating the returned plant facilities while continuing the aggressive remediation program being managed by its Portsmouth/Paducah Project Office.

    Primary Responsibilities

    The Technology Support Specialist will primarily be responsible for: 

    -Assisting the team with purchasing including vendor analysis, communications, and tracking.
    -Assisting the team with equipment life cycle tracking.
    -Ensuring the team is aware of and meeting deliverable dates.
    -Assisting in status reporting of day-to-day activities and project activities.
    -Tracking IT work orders, problems, projects, and issues.
    -Developing solutions for technology problems and issues.


    Required education, experience, and work qualities:

    -Bachelor or Associate degree or equivalent work experience.
    -At least 1-2 years of experience in supporting IT systems.
    -Experience with using Microsoft Office products.
    -Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work in a team environment.


    Requirements:

    Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE clearance (not required to start)


    Preferred Qualifications:

    At least one year of experience as help desk administrator or as desktop computing field technician.
