    Job Description

    Genesee Community College has an opening for a Financial Clerk in the Business Office. This position processes payroll and supports the Business Office with financial records. This is a civil service position with Genesee County and will be a provisional appointment. The individual selected for the position must be a resident of Genesee, Erie, Livingston, Monroe, Niagara, Orleans or Wyoming County, apply for the next Genesee County Civil Service examination for this title and be reachable on the list. The minimum qualifications include graduation from high school or possession of appropriate equivalency diploma recognized by the NYS Department of Education, and either: a) possession of an Associate's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; or b) two years of full-time, paid experience in responsible financial record keeping duties; or c) any combination of training and experience, equivalent to A and B, indicating the ability to perform the duties of the job. Experience processing payroll and related taxes and retirement contributions, attention to detail, ability to meet strict deadlines under pressure, and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) preferred.
