Under the direction of the General Manager and Officers, the Area Manager manages the company's day to day operations and is accountable for helping the company deliver on our commitment to provide superior customer service and quality products. The Area Manager is responsible for the management of all assigned locations and must be able to perform all essential duties of Store Managers.
JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
MUST HAVE 5+ YEARS EXPERIENCE MANAGING MULTI-SITE LOCATIONS IN FOOD, RETAIL, and/or C STORE/GAS STATION INDUSTRY. The incumbent must be able to work any shift, Sunday - Saturday to support the company's business needs. He/she must be able to effectively communicate. The incumbent should demonstrate effective verbal communication skills and have excellent follow through.
Holds management team accountable to the measurable results associated with excellent customer service.
Responsible for managing all stores consistently towards acceptable customer service scores, feedback, and results.
Ensures that the retail environment is aimed at getting the customer excited about the products offered and inspiring a recipe of need.
Ensuring all assigned locations, in their entirety, present a well-maintained and visually appealing environment to all patrons.
Keeps all assigned locations well stocked and ensures that the management team and customer service representatives possess competent product knowledge.
Ensures that all employees across assigned locations have proper training and acknowledgement of safe food and beverage handling procedures.
Understand and administer the company policies and procedures and ensure compliance with them, consistently between locations
Manage all locations to work within labor scheduling budget/models, shifts, and full-time/Part-time employees
Ensure proper staffing for all locations to meet business needs.
Coach Store Managers to develop positive management styles
Ensure all stores are in full compliance with state and federal labor laws
Ensure proper disciplinary procedures are met to handle poor performers or other employee issues
Ensure that all employees are trained and compliant with all basic inventory management/movement/receiving processes.
Limit cash losses for all stores
Analyze sales, profits, and growth by store
Ensure that all stores properly execute all marketing plans
Track sales growth and margin growth by category; adjust buying habits as needed for growth
Advanced degree or certification preferred
Customer service experience is required
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required
Adaptability, multi-tasking and sound decision making abilities are required and essential to the success of this role
Computer proficiency is also required
A valid Driver's License and clean driving record are required for used of company vehicle
PHYSICAL AND VISUAL ACTIVITIES:
Ability to perform numerous physical activities that require considerable use of your hands, arms and legs and moving your whole body, including prolonged or repeated standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting of materials. Frequent lifting, grasping, and carrying materials and equipment up to 50 lbs. Proficient hand/eye dexterity is essential to operate cash register (POS) and to stock displays and coolers. Must be able to work inside and outside in all types of weather.
