Established over 20 years ago, this Medical Management organization offers comprehensive tools and services to a wide range of healthcare participants including independent physicians, medical groups, hospitals, ambulatory centers, clinic networks, health plans, and payers. The Utilization Review Training Nurse Manager will oversee Clinical Review Quality and Utilization Management (UM) Education processes in direct support of these lines of business, and will play a significant role in the operations of this company.
Reporting to the Clinical Operations Director, the Nursing Manager will lead Quality Review and UM Training for an outstanding and diverse team team, providing the tools to support the company’s mission of driving high-quality and patient focused healthcare. Supported by devoted and specialized Remote Educators who oversee individual processes in Utilization Management, Clinical Medical Review, Pre-Authorization solutions, and Provider Evaluations, the Manager will help shape the form of Clinical and Administrative Training program for the entire company.
The Nursing Manager will take direct oversight of the organization’s Clinical Quality and Training program. Working closely with Clinical Product Managers and Administrative Operations Managers, this person will develop a comprehensive training plan for new hires, as well as a skills evaluation plan for current Nurse Reviewers, and RN Utilization Management Nurses. This organization has used LEAN Management methodology to transform how it operates, and the incoming Manager will be expected to champion this framework. Currently, the whole team is working remotely, but eventually this position will be an office-based role in the Portland, Oregon area.
The Quality and Training Manager will get to work with a large and geographically dispersed team, serving as a mentor and a clinical resource. This person will lead by example, as well as through the development and deployment of a high-quality toolbox of templates, job aids, and standardized work documents. Constant evaluation of processes, tracking and analysis of key performance indicators, and monitoring of course corrections will be powerful levers for this Manager to achieve quality targets.
Strong clinical, management, and leadership experience will be needed for the Utilization and Quality Training Manager. This person will work on a cross-functional team to develop, deploy, and drive operations for a Medical Review product and a Utilization Management product, both of which are used by hundreds of customers. The Nurse Manager will take responsibility for the overall efficiency and management of programs that have helped thousands of clients get their processes back on track.
