. OPS GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS CONSULTANT I
This information technology position will support the county health departments in response to the outbreak of COVID-19. POSITION DESCRIPTION
This position will be responsible for some technical work installing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting multiple distributed computer systems for use in COVID-19 response including the hardware, software and communications components of distributed systems. This position does require travel to remote sites and some heavy lifting.
This position must be able to act independently and investigate, assess, analyze and make decisions to resolve issues and problems. They will track and facilitate IT resource allocation for COVID-19 staff, configure network and telephone accounts.
Provides technical assistance, customer service and guidance to users on hardware and software. Supports the use of office automation software, e-mail, computers and associated peripherals. The position may provide initial onboarding training.
Provides evening and weekend technical support for COVID-19 staff as needed.
Places and answers telephones, ensuring calls are answered promptly, professionally, courteously, and are routed to the appropriate areas. Provides coverage as needed for other DOH-Pinellas staff such as assisting with breaks and coverage during staff absences and as scheduled.
Performs related work as assigned. REQUIREMENTS
- Must be willing to work flexible hours to include after normal working hours and on weekends.
- 3 years of experience in computer software or hardware support
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Must have the ability to lift 30 pounds of equipment
- Must have the ability to effectively communicate technical information to users
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and four years of professional experience in systems analysis, management analysis, program planning, program research, program evaluation, engineering or administrative work.
- A master's degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for one year of the required experience.
- Professional or nonprofessional experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.

Current State Employees - Salary for current employees is based on employee's current payband/ paygrade.
