The Associate Advisor position in the Klein College of Media and Communication works under the regular guidance of more experienced advising staff in the Academic Advising Center. This position provides academic support by working closely with students and records. The Associate Advisor helps to advise students concerning schedules, majors, hours, warning and/or probation, and helps to disseminate information regarding curriculum requirements, academic policies, and other related issues as they arise. This individual also directs students to appropriate referrals with other advising staff and/or other resources and services available throughout the University community and participates regularly in meetings to discuss academic and professional goals. The Associate Advisor will help to prepare and present new student orientation sessions, assist with course selection and registration activities, and will teach or co-teach a section of Klein Freshman Seminar. Coordinates the Klein College Change of Program process and group advising sessions and will be responsible for monitoring and responding to student communication submitted through Klein College's general advising email. Other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree and one year of experience in an academic setting in higher education or related field preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred:Advanced training and/or coursework towards advanced degree.
