The Institute of International Finance is the global association of the financial industry, with more than 450 members from more than 70 countries. Its mission is to support the financial industry in the prudent management of risks; to develop sound industry practices; and to advocate for regulatory, financial and economic policies that are in the broad interests of its members and foster global financial stability and sustainable economic growth. IIF members include commercial and investment banks, asset managers, insurance companies, sovereign wealth funds, hedge funds, central banks and development banks.
The Institute seeks a highly motivated Senior Program Associate to join our Corporate Communications Department. S/he will be responsible for a variety of activities related to the communications function including but are not limited to the following:
Media relations activities: pitch and earn stories on a portfolio of key topics; develop and disseminate IIF research to the media; support the drafting and placement of op-eds, blog posts, and other written content; support media interviews by drafting briefing documents and helping to compile approved talking points.
Produce metrics and research: help develop and maintain key IIF messages; track earned media mentions; report monthly metrics on communications campaigns.
Manage digital media: draft and post social media content related to IIF research, advocacy or events.
Provide event support: develop and send press invitations for IIF events; register members of the press; create collateral materials for press and speakers, as well as assist with on-site press registration and support.
Provide website support as back-up for content posting and website management.
Applicants should have a college degree in communications, journalism, marketing or a related field with previous professional experience. Campaign or agency experience strongly preferred. Candidates must exhibit strong command of the English language in both written and oral communications. Personal attributes such as a high degree of professionalism, strong organizational skills, cultural sensitivity, strong attention to detail, and the ability to exercise good judgement are essential. Demonstrated experience with database software, and Meltwater or similar platforms, as well as strong command of Microsoft Office suite including Office 365. Some domestic and/or international travel maybe required.
