To deliver cost effective manufacturing solutions for the Cradles production equipment which meets all customer quality and timing requirements.
This position is responsible for helping to integrate all new and take-over program launches from a Robotic field into the Cradles Department. Responsible to manage robotic programs through direct involvement through all phases from engineering support at the vendor before the issue of a purchase order to product launch. Responsible for training and skill set advancement of other Multi-Craft personnel. Also responsible for continual improvement with all robotic processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Follow and enforce all plant safety rules and policies
Follow and comply with all operational procedures/policies as stated in the employee Environmental Health and Safety programs
Understand and promote Magna's philosophies (Magna Operational Principles, Corporate Constitution and Employee's Charter).
Assist with design feasibilities to optimize manufacturing and robot usage.
Champion the development of robotic process layouts, interface with Operator stations, timing and quoting instruction to all participating vendors quoting on the project.
Establish and follow up on full robotic program implementation (i.e. timing, PFMEA concept, manufacturing feasibility, process, simulation, prototype, line design, pattern build, hard tool build, engineering changes, tooling try-out, assembly verification, buy-off at vendor shop, home line try-out, PSO and PPAP and program launch.
Be actively involved in sign-off for assembly equipment, automation, racks for auto loading with robots.
Help establish Robotic Standards for line builds for Kamtek and Cosma as needed.
Prepare all reports, charts, cost justifications and all other documentation required for engineering records and project.
Interface with tooling manufacturing and controls for special projects.
Responsible for following all engineering specifications, to all departments involved.
Manage and track the cost of all activities for the programs through all phases and into production.
Manage and assist customers, vendors and other departments to implement the following:
Cost reduction programs.
Responsible for aiding customers on quality concerns and rejections if needed.
Responsible to fill out and complete 7 steps and 8D procedures.
Participate in Continual Improvement activities.
Handle confidential information on a regular basis.
Encourage safety and housekeeping practices and lead by example.
Promote and facilitate Open Door process, effective communication and Fair Treatment.
Adhere to customer requirements, Business Operating System and company policies.
Promote good housekeeping

Must have successfully completed 90 day introductory period.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferred, or equivalent experience, Engineering degree or equivalent combination of education and work related experience.
Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance, CAD and CAD Viewer programs; and Robotic Programming. Experience in from scratch robotic programming.
4-6 years of related work in the automotive/robotics industry
Minimum 4 years of Robotic experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
Training in Mig, Tig & Arc Welding
Computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook
The Robotics engineer must be expertly knowledgeable in use of:
Fanuc programming language
Robotic interfaces with PLC and aux. equipment
Robotic Mig weld programming is a must
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Computer programs (MS Office, PowerPoint, Project)
Experience in the use of Catia, UG or AutoCad would be an advantage.
Ability to work in a team environment
Must have good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills (verbal and written)
Capable of developing good working relationships with customers
Must be willing to work extended or flexible hours as required (including shift change to support business needs)
Able to work under variable workload and stress
Must be willing to travel & have a valid passport (or ability to get a passport)
Must have practical experience in costing and quoting
