            Job Description

            The Boeing Company is looking for a Mid-Level Software Product Quality Engineer in Berkeley, MO.

             

            This role requires an understanding of the big picture and the program environment in which you work. You will be part of a team of highly motivated Engineers supporting complex avionics, weapons, and simulation projects for development and production programs in Boeing Defense, Space and Security.

             

            To be successful in this role you will need to dig in and understand the products you support, and the tools and processes used by your teams. Additionally you should have a broad background that allows you to understand the software development process, as well as the organization's Quality requirements. Previous experience as a software developer is preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills are critical for this role.

             

            Position Responsibilities:

            • Actively participate in project activities, gathering needed inputs about project issues, schedules, and plans.

            • Verify software life cycle activities and products comply with approved software processes, plans and standards.

            • Act as an independent set of eyes and ears for Program Managers and the customer, highlighting potential best practices on the team, as well as areas for improvement.

            • Verify that product testing is done to meet product requirements.

            • Support and lead Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCAs) and defect prevention.

            • Generate and analyze software metrics.

            • Lead software quality assessments and improvement initiatives.

            • Participate in development of Supplier Statements of Work (SSOWs) and perform supplier oversight and evaluation throughout the supplier's Software Development Lifecycle.

             

            This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. A final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

             

            Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

            ·       5+ years' classroom or work related experience with Software Development lifecycle (including Requirements Analysis, Design, Code, Integration & Test)

            ·       3+ years' experience with Software Development Processes

            ·       1+ years' experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS)

             

            Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

            ·       Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

            ·       Previous experience as a software developer

            ·       Knowledge of AS9115, CMMI, and DO-178

            ·       Experience with agile software development lifecycles and DevSecOps

             

            Typical Education & Experience:

            Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
