            Job Description

The New York State Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is seeking an experienced antitrust practitioner to lead its Antitrust Bureau in New York City. The Antitrust Bureau is the nation's premier state antitrust enforcement agency, routinely initiating groundbreaking investigations and litigation to protect consumers and competition in New York, and nationwide.

The Antitrust Bureau enforces state and federal antitrust laws on behalf of New York and its residents, and is engaged in the full range of antitrust issues including price-fixing, bid-rigging, horizontal and vertical restraints, monopolization and merger control. The Antitrust Bureau is currently spearheading antitrust investigations into various large technology platforms. The Bureau has also increased its focus on high-profile merger enforcement matters, such as the recent NY-led challenge to the T-Mobile/Sprint merger. The Antitrust Bureau works closely with other state antitrust enforcers on matters of regional or national impact, and with the United States Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission. The Antitrust Bureau Chief must be able to interface regularly with other state attorney general offices and representatives of the federal antitrust agencies.

The Antitrust Bureau Chief will supervise attorneys and support staff in their investigations, case development, and affirmative lawsuits on behalf of the Office. The BC may also serve as the lead litigator and trial attorney in civil actions brought by the Antitrust Bureau.

We are seeking candidates with at least 10 years of experience in all areas of antitrust as well as complex litigation experience, supervisory experience, and excellent writing and communication skills. A commitment to public service is essential.

Applicants must reside in (or intend to soon become a resident of) New York State and be admitted to practice law in New York State. In addition, the Public Officers Law requires that attorneys in the Office be citizens of the United States. A two (2) year commitment upon being hired is a condition of employment.

OAG employees serve more than 19 million state residents through a wide variety of occupations. We offer a comprehensive New York State benefits package, including paid leave, health, dental, vision and retirement benefits, and family-friendly policies. As an employee of the OAG, you will join a team of dedicated individuals who work to serve the people of our State.
