Under the direction of the Practice Manager, the Patient Services Coordinator II operates as a Front Desk Coordinator. Provides support to administrative staff and patients. Works fairly independently but has supervision and guidance. Possesses knowledge and understanding of the Cancer Center practices and procedures.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Manages high volume of patient appointment check-ins, utilizing superb customer service skills.
Triages and manages high volume of patient telephone calls.
Assist with retrieving patient forms during the check-in process.
Follows up with scheduling coordinators on appointment linking issues
Monitors patient wait time
Maintains confidentiality and privacy, which is consistent with HIPAA guidelines.
Provides cross coverage for other practice staff members for absences, vacations, etc. and during variations in workflow, as needed
Performs other duties as assigned
This position involves close interaction with physician staff and fellow members of the clinical center as well as patients with cancer.
H.S. Diploma is required
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Good organizational skills required to handle multiple tasks in a busy environment
Ability to problem solve and adapt to flexible work hours
