Summary: The Business Development Director is responsible for the establishment and execution of vertical market business development, marketing strategies and tactics, networking and relationship building, lead generation, initial client contact, obtaining new work, and coordinating all promotional and sales functions in support of their market(s). This position reports to the Business Unit Leader with a strong relationship to the market leaders and department leaders.

Education / Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of sales or marketing experience and a motivation for sales.
In-depth market knowledge with proven ability to grow business and exceed targets within the market space as a business development manager, sales executive or relevant role.
Proficiency in networking, persuasion, prospecting, public speaking, research, writing, closing skills, prospecting skills, sales planning, identification of customer needs and challenges, territory management, professionalism, MS Office and CRM software (e.g., Salesforce).
Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and be comfortable in both a leadership and team-player role .
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: Valid driver's license required.
Physical Demands: Work is performed mostly in office settings. Some outdoor work may be required in the inspection of various construction sites, land use developments, or occupied facilities. Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate computers and various pieces of office equipment.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, bend, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and smell. The employee is frequently required to drive.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment: This job operates in a controlled indoor environment where the noise level is usually quiet. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. Also, on a project site the environment is occasionally loud.
