Perform various levels of full cycle bookkeeping, payroll processing, payroll tax reporting and accounting write-up work for CPA firm clients. Assist in preparation of individual and business income tax returns. Must be capable of working independently, with superior organizational and communication skills, servicing a wide range of firm clients. Flexible and part-time work schedule available.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Perform various levels of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annualclient bookkeeping work which may range from complete responsibility for GL, AP, AR and PR functions to in some cases periodic bank reconciliation and minor adjusting journalentries.
Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual client financial statements, performing various staff accounting functions related to CPA firm compilation engagements while adhering to professional and quality control standards.
Process client payrolls. Prepare client monthly, quarterly and annual payroll tax reports.
Prepare client B & O tax returns as necessary.
Prepare year-end working trial balances from client supplied data for purpose of preparation of small business tax returns.
Assist in preparation of individual income tax returns.
Assist in preparation of business income tax returns.
Bachelors or Associate degree in accounting, or significant practical experience demonstrating proven equivalent knowledge of financial accounting, bookkeeping and payroll processing. Minimum 3 years of full charge bookkeeping and/or accounting experience, preferably in a multi-client environment. Prefer proven and demonstrated business tax preparation experience. Preference to candidates with significant QuickBooks experience.
