The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a Medical Director for the Adult Cardiovascular and Thoracic Intensive Care Unit ( CVTICU ). This an open rank faculty position. The Medical Director will hold a leadership position in the University of North Carolina Medical Center and will have at least 10% of time dedicated to this role. The Medical Director will play a key role in the expansion project occurring at UNC with the construction of a new Operating Room and Critical Care Tower. The new tower will include an expansion from a 16-bed to a 28-bed CVTICU . The competitive candidate will lead a team of Critical Care Intensivists and Advanced Practice Providers working alongside surgeons, nursing staff, and ancillary providers from a multidisciplinary, inter-professional team. This position will provide opportunities to dedicate approximately 60% of clinical time to ICU care and approximately 40% of clinical time to providing anesthesia services in the main operating rooms and elsewhere in our Healthcare system campus.
Requires an MD, DO or equivalent. Requires completion of an ACGME accredited Anesthesiology Residency program and training in Critical Care Medicine.
Qualifications and Experience
Board certification in Anesthesiology as well as Critical Care Medicine.
