This person is responsible for cleanliness of entire building - common areas as well as resident apartments, ensuring that guests, residents, families and the team have a positive impression of our community.
Responsible for ordering inventory supplies and equipment.
Conduct regular inspection of assigned work areas to ensure cleanliness and organization.
Responsible for ensuring vacant rooms are ready for move-in by following the Room Ready Checklist.
Investigate housekeeping complaints and take corrective action as directed.
Housekeeping carts are to be restocked at the end of the day for the next day.
Understands and stays within housekeeping budgetary guidelines.
Discuss resident issues to ensure resident satisfaction.
Must have knowledge of cleaning chemicals and interactions.
Wear personal protective equipment as indicated by OSHA and per universal precaution guidelines.
Sanitizing/disinfecting the soiled linen rooms and janitorial rooms.
Cleaning includes vacuuming, cleaning windows, furniture, mirrors, etc.
Sanitize, clean and restock the community rest rooms daily.
Annual and quarterly deep cleaning of all common areas and other areas as instructed/indicated.
Resident apartments and bathrooms are to be cleaned weekly or more often as indicated.
Laundry including ironing and folding resident clothes and linens.
Returning residents laundry to the appropriate location.
Responsible for complying with all Home for the Aged state guidelines.
Provides a warm, welcoming and friendly atmosphere for residents, family, visitors and coworkers.
Follows proper hand washing techniques and infection control policies.
Attends and participates in all appropriate meetings and training opportunities.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) Required
Minimum 2 years housekeeping experience in a Home for the Aged facility
Ability to operate a computer
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Certificates & Licenses:
Employee will be regularly required to stand, walk, reach, stop, kneel, bend, twist, push/pull, lift or move up to 50 lbs.
Works in both office and resident care areas. Is involved with residents, personnel, visitors, and government agency personnel under all conditions and circumstances. Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, staff, visitors. May be subject to the handling of and exposure to infectious waste, disease and other hazardous chemicals.
