Walla Walla Foundry is one of the largest fine art fabricators in the world. Originally founded in 1980 as a bronze casting foundry, it now employs over 100 people and produces work in a range of materials and through multiple processes. The foundry casts in various alloys, including bronze, aluminum, copper, brass, stainless steel and silver. It also produces work in wood, resin, glass and wax.
ABOUT THE POSITION
The Walla Walla Foundry is seeking a Project Management Assistant to join our team. The position offers the opportunity to engage project management skills as well as develop an in-depth understanding of contemporary art production methods. Coordinate estimates, scheduling, release, collection, delivery, paperwork and documentation of all incoming and outgoing artwork shipments for both Walla Walla Foundry and collect shipments.
Oversee preparation and coordination of art installations. Coordinate travel, equipment and logistics for domestic and international installations
Develop a thorough understanding of a variety of topics, including truck configurations and features, truck shipping restrictions, sea freight maximums, air freight maximums, international shipping protocols, shipping and logistics terms, and transit timelines to frequent destinations.
Track objects moving in and out of storage within the storage database. Work with the Accounting Manager to update client storage inventories for annual and quarterly invoicing.
Project Management Support
Support project management operations through database administration.
Accurately perform end-processing of projects in Foundry databases.
Assist Project Managers Assistant in creating installation manuals and project information sheets for use in production or by clientele.
Assist shops in tracking and documentation of production processes, including weights, dimensions, materials, etc. for both historical record and execution of subsequent editions of the work.
Process RAW images to aid in image turnaround.
Prepare reports for internal and external use.
Observe fabrication and installation strategies with the ability to digest and create clear process records for use in production or for clientele.
Other duties as assigned.
Third Party IT Administration
Serve as the main point of contact for IT managed service provider. Assist with coordination of onsite visits, cost approvals, and help desk support.
Maintain accurate records and inventory of Walla Walla Foundry IT equipment and software assets.
Perform troubleshooting under direction of an IT managed service provider.
Maintain written documentation or instructions for IT related services, equipment or programs.

Must be highly organized, with the ability to set priorities and manage time independently to meet deadlines for concurrent projects.

Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new databases and software programs

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, a holistic understanding of various Foundry processes and materials, and a sensitivity to the artistic and aesthetic goals of each work.
Clean driving record and valid driver's License
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Associates degree in relevant field such as communications, business, art history and minimum 2 years applicable experience; or equivalent combination of education/experience
Work/working experience should include:
Work experience in hospitality, customer service or administrative support
Work experience in an artist studio, fabrication facility or arts administration is a plus.
Previous logistics and/or shipping experience a plus
Proficiency in digital photography, including Photoshop, Camera RAW and Adobe InDesign.
Comfortable with or able to quickly learn GSuite, Adobe Suite and Microsoft Suite
