ResponsibilitiesThe scope of this position includes performing specialized life sustaining procedures within the level of the ambulance service. Responsible for providing immediate emergency care and transport at the direction of tthe Ambulance Medical Director.
- Functions within the scope of practice of a Paramedic as defined within state regulations.
- Demonstrates the ability to perform in an accurate and precise manner in crisis and emergency situations. Demonstrates effective management of rapidly changing situations.
- Provides patient care and performs patient care procedures, including wound cleansing and dressing, immobilization, medical administration under medical direction, IV insertions, and re-assessment of patient condition and status.
QualificationsMust be at least 21 years of ageCurrent Paramedic CertificationACLS or ACLS instructor Certification BLS or BLS instructor Certification required upon hireMust possess a current Type D Chauffeur Driver's License Staff working in a clinic setting must obtain and maintain State of Iowa Limited Practice Radiographer Certification within 12 months of hirePRN Clinic Paramedics are exempt from the Limited Practice Radiographer Certification requirement
