• Domestic Home Care
(cleaning, cooking, laundry)

(budgeting, assisting client with good money choices)

(diet, medical appointments, medications, exercise programs)

(ensuring the client is safe, safety training)
• Recreation
(social activities, classes, areas of personal interest)
• Relationships
(supporting relationships with family and friends, facilitation of new relationships)
• Transportation
(school, work, appointments, community outings)
• Documentation
(complete daily log notes, medication sheets, incident reports, action forms, timecards, as needed)
• To communicate any major changes in the client's schedule to your supervisor
(hospital visit, taking a client out of town, encountering difficulties in the community, etc.)
• To maintain a positive and professional relationship with your coordinator, co-workers, client's family and other support services
• To meetings and in-service trainings
PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS
The direct support professional should be enthusiastic, motivated, flexible, organized, responsible and accountable.
The DSP must demonstrate the ability to be a team player, have knowledge of the service they work in and take responsibility for their work.
The DSP must strive toward enabling the people they support to become a part of the community.
QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrate a working understanding of the concept of supported living.
Demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively, as a team player, with other direct support professionals.
Must have a valid California driver's license and clean driving record (according to our insurance company standards).
Must have and maintain a safe, registered and insured vehicle.
Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
