OPPORTUNITY Collaborate with Information Technology and other Green Dot staff to make impactful decisions that aim to deliver enterprise-class technologies that protect Green Dot Public Schools systems and data from risks. This position will influence our long-term roadmap, identify enterprise-class tools, define best practices used by technology teams and end-users, work on technology projects with a focus on security, and help the organization mitigate risks. This includes the development of policies, procedures, and technology to secure systems, infrastructure, and data. Develop IT security programs and recommend necessary changes to ensure the organization s systems are fully compliant with all applicable regulatory requirements and privacy laws. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee cyber risk management and continually assess organizational security posture Plan for business continuity and disaster recovery Perform server and system hardening, backups, recovery, and network security assessments Provide guidance on security best practices to members of the Information Technology team and periodic cybersecurity awareness training to employees Work with vendors to increase information security and facilitate third-party security audits, testing, and remediation Stay abreast of the security industry threat landscape, specifically within the education sector Collaborate in other Information Technology projects as necessary This job operates in a professional office environment, is largely sedentary, and utilizes typical office equipment (computers, phones, photocopiers, etc.). Normal business hours are 700am 400pm, Monday-Friday (although these hours may vary and may require occasional evening and weekend work based on organizational needs). Minimal or no travel required, other than visits to local school sites (as needed). QUALIFICATIONS Certifications in CISSP, CEH, CISM, or equivalent are required IT certifications in Cisco Security, Microsoft, VMware are preferred BS in computer science or equivalent field are preferred You have a minimum of 8 years of experience in Information Technology, with 5 years in Information Security You have a thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols including NIST cybersecurity framework You have hands on experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, SSL certificates, log management, web filters, network access controls, etc. You possess a strong working knowledge of Anti-Spam and E-mail Security You are familiar with ACLs, Windows permission management, patch management and upgrades of servers and systems You have experience managing Wireless LANS and Wireless Security using 802.1X You have a strong knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Azure and Office 365 including solution design, migration, administration, and troubleshooting You have knowledge of and experience with VMware and virtualization You have excellent hardware troubleshooting experience and are competent with testing tools and procedures for voice and data circuits You have knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws You are able to conduct research into networking issues and products as required You have the dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and to handle internal computer components You are highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail You recognize the need for professional development and are proactive in obtaining the training and coaching needed to grow and succeed in the organization You have proven analytical and problem-solving abilities You are able to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment You works well in a team-oriented, collaborative environment with strong customer service You possess strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills You are able to present ideas in user-friendly language You have a good understanding of the organization s goals and objectives You are dependable, have a sense of humor and a rock-solid commitment to Green Dot s mission and the communities we serve You will need to pass a TB test and background check at time of offer The information contained herein is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of the duties and responsibilities of the job, nor are they intended to be an all-inclusive list of the skills and abilities required to perform the job.
