The Oculoplastic Surgeon reports to the Chief of Surgery at VA Central Iowa Health Care System in Des Moines, Iowa. Oculoplastic surgery is a subspecialty of Ophthalmology. Physician is responsible for performing invasive and non-invasive surgical services as established in the current delineation of clinical privileges. The oculoplastic surgeon will provide oversight to ophthalmology residents who perform or assist with surgical cases.

Preferred Experience: Expertise in invasive and non-invasive oculoplastic surgical services.

Physical Requirements: Daily intermittent walking, standing, bending, stooping, reaching, and carrying of lightweight items required. Rigid deadlines and need for high degree of accuracy periodically becomes stressful.
All physicians may be required to maintain current BLS certification and ACLS certification as indicated per medical center policy.

Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP): Authorized This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan reimbursement program within VHA.
