Job Title: Bulk Feed & Grain Truck Driver FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Feed Mill Manager Department: Feed
Position Summary The Bulk Feed & Grain Truck Driver supports the daily operations including receiving and delivery for the Feed Mill while serving customers in a friendly, professional, courteous and efficient manner resulting in satisfied customers and repeat business.
Position Responsibilities Feed & Grain Operations ▪ Receives, records and fulfills feed orders from customers and employees ▪ Ensures all merchandise is properly billed out before leaving the premises ▪ Assists in the manufacturing and bagging of feed products ▪ Maintains and services of feed manufacturing equipment ▪ Operates a forklift to transport, load and unload products
▪ Follows Hazardous Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulations and completes required paperwork Feed and Warehouse Operations ▪ Utilizes a preventative maintenance checklist to aid in preventing equipment failure
▪ Orders, receives and verifies all merchandise and accurately completes invoices
▪ Minimizes controllable expenses by following company guidelines regarding the handling of spoilage, breakage, outdated products and items for warehouse use
▪ Maintains accurate inventory, records and bookkeeping for the warehouse ▪ Accounts for discrepancies in inventory and products handled
▪ Prices merchandise, stocks shelves, and rotates product in the warehouse
▪ Understands products, product mix, product application, services and location needs ▪ Receives customer feed orders and coordinates fulfillment and delivery with local mills ▪ Receives and unloads feed from producers ▪ Operates scales and sample probes
Delivery and Service
▪ Maintains an efficient routing system to ensure the timely delivery of product
▪ Schedules calls efficiently to minimize time and distance travelled
▪ Demonstrates safe and attentive driving while delivering product
▪ Understands and operates all fill and loading equipment
▪ Effectively communicates with customers
▪ Ensures tickets are completed for all products delivered and services rendered
▪ Ensures all product is accounted for and reports any discrepancies to manager
▪ Maintains daily delivery records
Vehicle Maintenance
▪ Completes pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections
▪ Maintains a clean vehicle both inside and out
▪ Properly completes Daily Vehicle Maintenance Records on assigned vehicle(s)
▪ Performs minor repairs and reports larger vehicle problems to manager or mechanic
Customer Service
▪ Promotes a customer-focused environment by providing friendly, courteous and helpful service that provides customers with desired products, services and experiences
▪ Greets customers entering the store and thanks customers for their business after a sale
▪ Looks for ways to assist the customer and offers carry-out service when appropriate
▪ Communicates respectfully and effectively with customers and listens to their concerns
▪ Answers customer questions and resolves complaints in a timely and efficient manner
▪ Works extended hours as requested by supervisor to ensure good customer service during busy seasons Housekeeping ▪ Maintains a safe working area and keeps walkways clean of slip or trip hazards ▪ Follows company and location safety policies and promptly reports any and all accidents by employees, customers and vendors that occur on company premises ▪ Maintains and cleans the grounds and parking lot
Other Duties

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
High school diploma or GED; agriculture, customer service and/or sales experience preferred

License and Certification Requirements
▪ A Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License
▪ Forklift Certification
▪ Airbrake endorsement
▪ Tanker endorsement
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Work is performed in a feed mill environment and operating commercial vehicles and in outdoor conditions. Must be able to sit for up to 6 hours at a time; stand for up to 2 hours at a time; climb on and off the truck on a regular basis; bend, reach and twist occasionally; lift and carry up to 50 pounds over short distances occasionally; push or pull up to 75 pounds occasionally; and tolerate extreme seasonal temperatures and weather conditions.
