Coastal Villages Region Fund (CVRF) is currently accepting applications for a Service Writer to work at our Eek location. The primary job responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, supporting Community Service Centers (CSC) and their Mechanic/Welders (M/W) by providing exceptional customer service to community members and staff, producing quotes in a timely manner, and effectively communicating diagnostic information obtained from the M/Ws to the customers. This position is also responsible for maintaining accurate and organized records, tracking parts orders, and ensuring that constant contact during repair processes is kept with customers.
This position reports directly to the Mechanics & Welders Manager assigned to that location, with overall supervision by the Director of Vocational Programs and Services.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS
A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required. The ability to understand and speak the Yup’ik/Cup’ik native language is strongly preferred. Previous knowledge and work experience in servicing snowmachines, ATVs, outboards, boats and other products common to service centers is strongly preferred. Previous customer service experience is plus. Ideal candidates will possess the ability to represent the company in a professional manner and demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills (including some knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel programs) are required, while experience with point-of-sale or parts and service management software is a plus. This position requires the ability to learn quickly, be prompt, and be available for flexible scheduling. A high regard for accuracy and attention to detail, along with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines, is required.
In order to successfully perform the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to effectively remain in a stationary position for long periods of time, operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, communicate with others in person and over the phone, and move about inside an office/shop. This position will occasionally be required to operate shop and welding machinery. This position requires the ability to sit, effectively use hands and fingers, talk and listen, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and crouch. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is also a requirement.
This position is performed in shop setting with exposure to florescent lighting. It requires the regular use of utilizing various hand tools, shop tools, and shop equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud due to operating machinery. Travel to other rural communities, Anchorage, and other states may be required via aircraft of varying sizes, ATC’s, and small boats. Some travel may require staying overnight.
