    Responsibilities

    Acts as the Director of Digital Technology Integration managing teams and guiding the development hardware/software/data solutions to meet digital acquisition objectives and processes in the Space Systems Group. Will articulate and organize the interfaces between customers' and Aerospace technical and management staff to deliver software enabled workflows and capabilities to program office leaders. Coordinates large-scale technical efforts across program offices, contractors, technical teams, and program offices. Develops project budgets and actively prioritizes development activities to meet senior leadership objectives. Actively recruits talented personnel and matches capabilities with teaming needs to meet objectives.
     
    Key Functions

    • Serves as the integration leader and/or coordinator of a team of technical contributors, which may include advanced or senior level technical/project specialists
    • May serve as a principal technical representative to the customer, coordinating efforts on several smaller projects in concurrent operation or on portions of larger multi-phase/multi-disciplinary project
    • Identifies issues, prioritizes tasks, facilitates communications, and acts as spokesperson for the working group to management/ customers
    • Scopes requirements for and initiates acquisition of technical support from appropriate corporate resources including cost and economic or market analysis specialists, as appropriate
    • Monitors and may assist in the development of budgets and other resource allocations to accomplish tasks, and may be given additional administrative coordination and management liaison responsibilities
    • Acts as a senior mentor to team members, providing orientation, technical guidance and development insight
    • Leads new business and technical planning efforts
    • Maintains an active understanding of the key distinguishing aspects of various software, cloud, and development technologies to be able to guide developments and help make decisions on what technologies should are best suited to which problems
    • Review code and software deliveries ensuring quality of deliveries
    Qualifications

    Required

    • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate technical discipline from a recognized institution
    • 12 or more years of increasingly responsible professional engineering/scientific experience, including multi-disciplinary systems engineering and/or program management environments
    • Exhibits an exceptionally high level of innovation, creativeness, and initiative
    • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers
    • Demonstrated experience in leading distributed software systems
    • Demonstrated first-hand management experience
    • Experience leading software development teams with in-depth experience evaluating code, test processes, and deployment processes
    • Understanding of Software Containers, Kubernetes, and Cloud Orchestration Capabilities
    • Knowledge of DevOps and Agile development practices
    • Knowledge of Hosted Cloud Technologies
    • General knowledge of microservice architectures and data-driven development
    • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
