          The University of Cincinnati seeks to hire an Executive Director to lead the Center for Entrepreneurship and Commercialization (CEC) within the Lindner College of Business. Founded in 1997, the mission of the Entrepreneurship Center is to support state-of-the-art entrepreneurship education, research, and practice for students, scholars, entrepreneurs, and business leaders. The Entrepreneurship Center seeks collaborative efforts between students and faculty from across the University to remove barriers and create gateways to entrepreneurship. The University of Cincinnati's Entrepreneurship program has been ranked one of the best in the United States by Entrepreneur Magazine , the Princeton Review , and Success Magazine . This is an exciting opportunity to be part of and help shape a dynamic team focused on growing the impact and presence of the Entrepreneurship Center and academic program on a national and even global stage as the University embarks on its Next Lives Here Capital Campaign. The Executive Director reports to the Associate Dean for Impact and Partnerships in conjunction with the Head of the Department of Management. The position is for 30 hours per week (75% FTE), and includes health and other benefits. The term is for two years and is renewable subject to satisfactory job performance and funding.

          Responsibilities:

          The Executive Director is responsible for the following duties:

        • Work with the Lindner College of Business leadership team to develop a strategic plan for the Entrepreneurship Center. This includes, but is not limited to, clarifying a vision and mission for the Entrepreneurship Center and its University leadership role in building an innovation and entrepreneurship culture in the Lindner College of Business, across campus, and in the community.
        • Develop and manage revenue generating activities as well as the center budget and staff to execute the adopted strategic plan.
        • Coordinate and collaborate in entrepreneurship events and activities with the 1819 Innovation Hub and other local start up organizations to help integrate the Entrepreneurship Center into the entrepreneurship ecosystem and community of Cincinnati.
        • Work with the faculty and academic program directors to support the entrepreneurship programs in the Lindner College of Business through extracurricular activities, student recruiting, connecting students and faculty to university and community ecosystem, and more. Build relationships with other colleges and academic programs to promote student engagement in entrepreneurship activities and programs. Provide managerial oversight of the Kautz Attic and utilize it to promote entrepreneurship activities and interests.
        • Assist the Associate Dean of Impact and Partnerships in the cultivation and maintenance of corporate partnerships and initiatives for the College. Serve on appropriate College or University committees as appointed by the Department Head and Associate Dean.
        • The person holding this position may have the opportunity to teach as an adjunct instructor in the Lindner College of Business. Such responsibilities will be treated separately from this role and will be negotiated directly with the Academic Director of the Entrepreneurship Program and the Department Head of Management.


        • Job Qualifications

          Master's degree with five (5) years experience; -OR-Bachelor's degree with seven (7) years experience; -OR Associate's degree with nine (9) year's experience; -OR- eleven (11) years experience. Experience must be related to areas of responsibilities.

          Additional Qualifications

          A suitable candidate will have a graduate degree in business administration or a related field and have at least 10 years of professional experience in business management or consulting which includes significant entrepreneurship-related experience.

          An ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, work in collaborative teams, and be able to develop and maintain professional relationships with partners in the academic and business community.
