Clinical Supervisor Position:
We need someone with CLIA - 1+ years experience handling human samples - 1+ years experience.
Supervisory Experience - I think they are willing to bend here a little bit and would consider someone with training experience
The General Supervisor is responsible for day-to-day supervision or oversight of the
laboratory operation and personnel performing testing and reporting test results.
Must be accessible onsite to testing personnel at all times testing is performed to
provide direct supervision to personnel and consultation to resolve technical
problems in accordance with policies and procedures established either by the
Laboratory Director or Technical Supervisor.
Responsible for ensuring that acceptable levels of analytical performance are
maintained on a day to day basis. Review quality control (QC) daily and
document corrective action taken on any outlier results. Ensure that test results
are not reported when QC is outside of acceptable limits.
Ensures that test results are completed accurately and delivered to providers in a
timely manner. Responsible for ensuring that no patient results will be reported
until all corrective actions have been taken and the test system is properly
Responsible for the daily surveillance of QC program; while the formal review is
performed at least monthly by a Technical Supervisor.
Responsible for notifying the CRSP management of problems encountered during
the operation of the department.
Ensure that technical decisions (i.e. changes to control ranges, etc.) are approved
by the laboratory director or designee before changes are made. Keep the clinical
management informed regarding all problems affecting the technical operation of
Responsible for annual performance reviews/competency testing of testing
Responsible for other duties as requested by administration, Technical Supervisor,
and Laboratory Director.
Degree in Biology or a closely related field
3+ years experience working with human samples
o 1+ yr of experience in a clinical lab environment
1+ years of supervisory experience
Strong attention to detail
Experience with nucleic acid extraction - preferred
Experience with qPCR - preferred
Excellent verbal and communication skills
Demonstrated the ability to troubleshoot and good decision-making skills
Managerial Experience? Yes, previous managerial experience is a must. They will have approx. 15 direct reports.
Shift hours: Both day and night shifts available (4 will be on day, 4 will be on night) 3 days on, 3 days off (12 hour shifts). Day shift - 6 am - 6 pm, Night Shift 6 pm - 6 am, Rotating schedule. 2 teams per day

The institute has a lot of robotic liquid handlers that will be processing samples every day
(1) Will have to support breakdown/recover and restart the process
(2) Should be able to use the software to recover the decks (tips can crash over time)
(3) Should be able to follow the QC that is implemented
(4) Looking for a mechanical service engineer who has a good understanding of bench work
(5) Someone who understands process extraction & QPCR process
(6) Familiar or worked with at least one of these automated liquid handlers, Bravos, Hamilton's, and Tempest
