Overview This position performs professional and complex technical work for the Cumberland County NC GIS Program primarily using ESRI technology. This position conducts GIS analysis and requirements gathering for internal and external clients. Designs and develops custom GIS desktop and web applications performs complex integrated programming, queries, and data analysis as related to the function of the County of Cumberland enterprise GIS system customizes existing software to increase functionality designs and carries out GIS procedures. Installs desktop and server software upgrades assuring version currency and consistency across the enterprise. Minimum Requirements Graduation from a four year college or university with a degree in GIS, management information, computer science, geography, engineering, or related discipline and one year of experience that includes knowledge of ESRI Products (e.g. ArcGIS DesktopPro, ArcGIS Server, ModelBuilder and ArcSDE) or an associate degree in computer science, management information or closely related field and three (3) years of experience working with ESRI Products, Microsoft SQL Server, and Python or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Management Preference Certification in GISP or ESRI technology Other requirements Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Within 60 days of hire, must obtain and show proof of a valid NC Driver's License and must maintain an acceptable driving record while employed. Driving is an essential function of this position. Background check and negative drug test are required.
