    Job Description

    Medtronic ProductSecurity Office provides strategic direction for security of Medtronic devices.This office is responsible for stayingabreast of industry standards and building appropriate requirements intoMedtronic processes.This includes creatingworld-class Pre and Post Market processes that result in secure world-classmedical devices able to sustain their product life cycle.This position will assist with developing apan Medtronic Product Security strategy that meets the needs of a diverseportfolio of products, Regulators and patients.This position will work across all Medtronic Businesses and Industrypeers.Strong leadership is needed toinfluence internal practices, work with industry peers and recruit appropriatetalent.This role will augment anexisting team and help build a sustainable infrastructure for ProductSecurity.


    A Day in the Life
    • Assist with developing Product Security strategy and roadmap for maturity

    • Remain informed on Regulatory requirements for Product Security

    • Engage with industry and peer organizations to benchmark

    • Identify opportunities to improve current practices

    • Assist in developing an effective product security governance programthat ensures strategic alignment of product security and broader corporate andbusiness unit objectives

    • Assist with development of training and awareness programs

    • Assess current regulatory practices and built world-class model

    • Adjust priorities based upon evolving and new requirements

    • Assist with creating KPI metrics for success over the course of theproduct lifecycle

    • Benchmark with external organizationsfor Product Security maturity

    • Assist with internal and external communications regarding productsecurity

    • Participate and/or lead strategic projects

    • Cultivate a high performing team of engaged leaders who will continue toevolve to address the product security needs of the company

    • Create energy and enthusiasm at all levels of the product securityorganization

    • Enable strong partnerships across the organization to drivebest-in-class product security mechanisms

    Must Have: Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelors degree 
    • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience with 10+ years of managerial experience , or Advanced Degree with a minimum 13 years prior relevant experience and minimum of 10 years of managerial experience
    • Background in Product Security
    • Experience in Quality Systems
    • Experience in product risk assessment, privacy and incident response
    Nice to Have: Preferred Requirements 
    • Medical Device Product Security experience

    • Understanding of the security development process and productdevelopment process, from design inputs through execution of the appropriateverification and validation tests, working with contract vendors, gaininginternal and regulatory approval and launching new products

    • Experience facilitating working sessions

    • Experience creating risk mitigation strategies

    • Experience with threat modelling and other analysis, highlighting "whatcould go wrong?"

    • Knowledge in risk assessment methodologies, security frameworks andrelevant global regulations

    • Strong capability to research and evaluate emerging technologies

    • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and take a proactive approach tomanaging change

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    • Experience working in a highly regulated industry
