Summit Technologies, Inc. has multiple positions available for a Windows Systems Administrator. In this role you will be responsible for performing DoD Enterprise level systems administration to ensure the systems are available to the user base. This is an onsite position in Ft. Lee, VA which requires a DoD Top Secret Clearance and Security+ CE certification.
Responsible for the availability of systems and ensure they are available to the user base.
Monitor systems and ensure they are operating at peak efficiency.
Identify, report and resolve any degradation, unusual activities or system downtime.
Perform server administration to include the administration of, but not limited to, MS SCCM, Virtual Platforms, file, web, SQL, and printer servers.
Install, configure, test, troubleshoot, document, and decommission servers and associated equipment and hardware.
Perform administration and provide customer support of Microsoft web site host servers, Microsoft SharePoint servers and sites.
Perform Active Directory administration to include account creation/deletion, rights assignment and troubleshooting.
Perform storage administration to include Storage Area Network (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices configuration, troubleshooting and corrective maintenance as well as maintaining availability.
Perform configuration management, system backups and restoration in accordance with local Government policies and procedures.
Provide customer service and support to include responding to Service Desk tickets, telephone requests, walk-in support requests and customer escorts.
Perform installations, maintain software products and coordinate installation of new software.
Test and troubleshoot systems.
Maintain all system nodes and supporting networks in an operational state.
Configure wireless devices on the applicable enterprise wireless servers.
Provide Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes. Have knowledge of and review the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Knowledge Service.
Experience and Skills:
Knowledge of Virtual Machines (VM), Storage Area Network (SAN), Network Area Storage (NAS), Clustering, Active Directory, AD Group Policy Management, Windows Internet Naming Services (WINS), Domain Name System (DNS) and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP)
High proficiency with TCP/IP protocol.
Hardware knowledge with server platform equipment required including extensive knowledge of Ethernet networks, server and PC hardware, personal digital assistants (PDA), network printers, and storage technology.
Experience in cybersecurity documentation and system authorization (System Security Plan, lifecycle documentation, continuous monitoring plan, Security Assessment Plan, Security Assessment Report, Risk Assessment, etc.).
Experience with DoD security hardening, collection and assessment tools (STIGs, ACAS SCAP, Nessus, etc.) and experience with security architectures, firewalls and network access.
Knowledge of Windows architecture and internals, including file system, registry, networking, and security.
Knowledge of windows installation and deployment methodologies to include creation and customization of unattended installation scripts.
Experience analyzing, designing, configuring and troubleshooting networking operating systems.
Experience deploying software packages in a Windows Active Directory environment.
Experience with various software products (ex. Symantec Backup Exec or NetBackup) that perform and maintain backup resources.
