We are currently seeking an experienced and energetic Assistant Food and Beverage Director to join the Operations leadership team at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Position Summary: Directly manages the daily operation and is responsible for the managing of all hourly employees. Effectively manages in a prompt, courteous, professional, and efficient manner. Job Responsibilities & Duties • Manages proper hiring, orientation, evaluating, mentoring, and disciplining which will lead to employee and operational success. • Establishes and maintains effective internal controls within the department. • Deliver the highest quality of food service through existing programs and by the development of new concepts. • Recommends equipment to be used and is responsible for the proper selection of food product. • Standardizes portions used and is responsible for the controlling of food, beverage, and labor costs. • Consistently supervises, manages, and inspects hourly employees to ensure readiness and ability to perform to company standards. • Ensures guest satisfaction through proper internal controls: employee interaction/engagement, pre- intern- post quality controls, touching tables, and temperature- portion weight -delivery checks. • Prioritizes employee, customer, and operational needs to ensure issues are handled quickly, effectively, and efficiently. • Opens and closes the location at a daily basis and preserves a safe, secure, and sanitary environment which fosters employee success. • Promotes positive open communication in a team environment. • Adheres to and displays company standards by personal example. • Manages the personnel scheduling/ shift cut backs/holiday planning to facilitate standard coverage and efficiency. • Manages the reconciliation of daily cash receipts and equivalents according to set policy standards. • Manages all necessary administrative office work and record keeping in an organized manner. • Inspects and administers employee uniform and personal hygiene standards. • Consistently documents in daily log all operational concerns. • Responsible for maintenance/repairs/upkeep of all company assets including furniture, fixtures, equipment, building and landscape. • Hold quarterly round table and safety meetings. Job Skills & Requirements • Two year college degree and 2 years supervisory experience, or 1 year restaurant experience and 1 year supervisory experience. • Age- Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older. • Proven successful leadership and people skills (values diversity). • History of obtaining budgeted results. • Is willing to own Provider Contract Food Service mission statement. • Pleasant personality who enjoys a team environment and is cordial in all communication. • Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. • Must maintain valid driver's license and have good driving record. • Advanced computer skills including Internet, Excel, Google Suite, CBORD, Simphony or Micros POS • Demonstrates ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English (Conversational kitchen Spanish a help). • Must be able to pass test to become Serve Safe certified.
