POSITION: ADJUNCT COMPUTER INFORMATION SYSTEMS TECHNOLOGY INSTRUCTOR - Different Campus Locations Available
REPORTS TO: Dean of Advanced Technology and Engineering
EFFECTIVE DATE: January 6, 2020
SALARY: Targeted salary is paid in a lump sum based on contact hours
This position will prepare and teach classes in the Computer Information Systems Technology program. Adjunct faculty responsibilities are centered on preparing and teaching classes as assigned:
Provides professional instruction based on approved course syllabus. Ensures that desired course outcomes meet the stated objectives;
Prepares curriculum and syllabus for coursework taught;
Evaluates students' progress in attaining goals and objectives;
Administers and grades class examinations;
Maintains records of student grades;
Attends in-service training, workshops and seminars, as needed;
Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training areas;
Meets ALL required deadlines;
Meets with students, staff members, supervisors as needed.
A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or closely related field from a regionally accredited college or university.,
Three (3) years of in-field work experience;
Skill in developing lesson outlines and materials
Knowledge of vocational area of assignment
Skill in presenting subject matter
Skill in administering tests to evaluate progress
Skill in the use of computers and job related software programs
Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with adult learners
Oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of student information systems
This position is available at all Lanier Tech campuses; and day and evening classes available. At present, we are looking to fill positions for Spring semester beginning on January 13, 2020 and ending on May 11, 2020.
NOTE: Adjunct faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions of employment that are appointed on a per-academic-term basis.
