WHAT YOU WILL DO
Maintain average case completion rate consistent with the departmental standard.
Participate in people management activities for unit team members such as performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and interviews.
Develop and process images in a timely manner.
Maintain routine stock supply items within the assigned work area.
Verify each patient's identification by armband or by inquiry of patient (requires certain information known to the patient, to confirm their identity i.e. D.O.B., address, etc.)
Obtain, review and utilize all history and special instructions relevant to the procedure being requested.
Educate and inform patients to promote understanding and cooperation to ensure the optimal quality of procedures.
Label films with appropriate patient identification.
Monitor the operations of a unit and provides input to the performance of individuals through feedback and recommendations.
Instruct and orient employees and students in the proper performance of diagnostic procedures and functions of the department.
Apply the correct algorithm to the case being performed via digital radiography.
WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED
Prior experience as a Cardiac Catheterization Technologist.
Lead and coach others.
Customer service skills.
Show sincere interest in others and their concerns.
Handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
Exercise initiative and judgement in determining proper anatomical posture/positioning for patients appropriate to the examination required; selection of proper exposure factors; and the avoidance of unnecessary discomfort in the handling of the patient.
Knowledge of the hazards encountered with the use of radiographic equipment.
Knowledge of operation and care of equipment used in the performance of work.
Effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
