The Senior Accountant ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.
Prepares, records, and reviews asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
Review disbursements to ensure proper coding, authorization, and budgetary approval and adherence to Company policy.
Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions.
Resolves any account discrepancies as needed.
Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, prepares trial balances, and reconciles entries.
Summarizes financial status by collecting necessary account information
Prepares and reviews balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other statements as necessary for general ledger closing.
Assist in the preparation and distribution of financial statements.
Assists in preparation of monthly reports including but not limited to: schedules, worksheets, and Budgets vs Actual variance reports.
Completes audits by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts and prepares information for internal or external audits as needed.
Ensures all deliverables comply with regulatory guidance and Company standards.
Document policies, procedures, and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility.
Maintains current knowledge of relevant accounting practices
Protects and stores confidential information as per Company procedure.
Research accounting issues as requested.
Attends meetings and functions on time.
Preforms other duties as assigned.
Follows all safety policies and procedures; communicate hazards and/or suggest improvements to Manager.
Telephone, fax machine, copier, computer, calculator, scanner.
Overtime work may be required, normal office environment
Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Knowledge of Statutory accounting principles
Strong analytical and accounting skills.
Demonstrated Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Suite including, Excel and Word.
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of major accounting software packages.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting with CPA or CA preferred
A minimum of 5 years' experience related month close or GL experience in an accounting position.
Excellent time and self-management skills, ability to prioritize and multi-task to meet required deadlines.
Ability to work and effectively communicate with all levels of the department and company.
