CTC has an opportunity for a qualified Senior Systems Administrator in Annapolis Junction, MD. SENIOR SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR Primary Responsibilities: CTC is seeking qualified candidates for a Senior Systems Administrator position in our Annapolis Junction, MD office. Our team will support a number of clients through performing set-up, configuration and maintenance of network equipment and system software and hardware; provide systems and network administration support of PCs, servers, racks of equipment and configuration and management of LAN interfaces; testing, system integration, installation scripts, set-up and configuration of telecommunications equipment and other duties to support system and network infrastructure. The candidate must be capable of performing the following tasks, with demonstrated experience: • Supporting systems and network upgrades to include technical refresh of systems, or the technical insertion of hardware/software upgrades and components. • Installing and configuring Windows and Linux systems • Troubleshooting system software, hardware, and network issues from routers to password resets and telecommunications cabling to software patches and IAVA alerts • Restoring connectivity, moving equipment (servers, PCs, network components, lab equipment), and experience with Cisco telecommunications products, among other roles. • Configuring networking devices (Cisco) including: • Establishing networking schemes, managing VLANs, and routing • Hardening Windows and Linux systems • Setting up and tearing down physical equipment in racks Basic Qualifications: • A Bachelor's Degree in Network or Computer Engineering; Computer Science; Computer Systems; Information Security; Information Systems Management; Network Engineering or a related field with 6-8 years related experience or a Master of Science degree with 4-6 years of experience • A minimum of four (4) years of experience with installation, maintenance, administration, and troubleshooting of LAN, computer hardware and software • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in the maintenance of computer peripherals, set-up and configuration of network and computer system components • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD 8570.01-M IAT level I or II certification (i.e. A+, Network+, SSCP, Security+, etc.). Preferred Qualifications: • Experience providing assistance to users • Experience optimizing system operations • Experience performing full/daily-differential backups for server systems, as required • Updating Gold Disk security settings for networks and systems • Virtualization experience with tools such as VMWare Workstation, RHEL Kernel Virtualization Modules (KVM) or ESXi • Strong written and oral communication skills, analytical background with troubleshooting skills. • Experience with scripting (e.g. Perl, bash, etc.) Clearance: U.S. citizenship required. The candidate must possess and maintain a US Government TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph for this position.
