Northern Engineering, a civil engineering and surveying firm with over 30 years of experience serving Northern Colorado, has an exciting opportunity for a Water/Wastewater Engineer. The successful candidate will improve the quality of lives in Northern Colorado through the planning, designing, and monitoring of small to medium size water and wastewater systems with varying complexity. The key responsibilities of a Water/Wastewater Engineer include, but are not limited to: •Planning, designing, and implementing water and wastewater systems including treatment systems, process/treatment design, pumping systems, SCADA, water reuse, water supply, distribution, collection, and storage systems. •Performing, preparing and reviewing technical memoranda, design, calculations, reports, drawings, specifications, planning studies, presentations, and miscellaneous contract documents. •Effectively assisting, communicating, and coordinating with internal and external project teams, clients, regulatory agencies, subconsultants, contractors, municipalities, districts, and funding agencies. The Person The key skills and qualities of a Water/Wastewater Engineer: •Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Professional Engineer (P.E.) classification, preferably Colorado or able to obtain within 6 months of hire. Extraordinary experience may be considered in lieu of a degree or licensure. •Typically possesses 5 years of experience in municipal and public sector projects related to the study, design and construction administration of water/wastewater systems which includes treatment systems and design, pumping systems, SCADA, water reuse, water supply, distribution, collection and storage. •In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations regarding water and wastewater systems. •Knowledge and proficiency in Civil 3D, Microsoft Suite and hydraulic modelling software.
