                      Job Description

                      DAMASCUS BAKERIES is a 3rd Generation Bakery founded in 1930.  We have two baking facilities in Brooklyn, NY, Newark, NJ, and Clifton, NJ.  Our products include Pitas, Lavash, Wraps, Flatbreads, Pizza Crusts, Breadsticks, Sandwich Buns, and more. We have a very strong- and even historic- presence in the Metro New York market.  Since 2000, we have expanded our capacity and distribution to the National Market, supplying and partnering with many of America's top QSR's, Casual Dining Restaurants, Food Service Establishments, Retail, Club and Natural Stores, Institutions, Distributors, and other Bakeries.  For many of our customers, we have been the Product Development arm that has created some of America's most Successful and Award-Winning Flatbreads.

                      This position will be working out of our Clifton, NJ location.

                      We are a 24/7 operation, the individual selected for this role must be a people person and must be willing to work afternoon to night hours as well as the weekends as part of their weekly work week. The hours will be from 11am to 8pm with variation schedules on the weekends. The presence of Human Resources must be visible on all shifts within the organization.


                      ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

                      § Provide office support in the screening, interviewing, and testing of applicants

                      § Notify existing staff of available internal positions or opportunities

                      § Maintain personnel records using information technology equipment

                      § Assist the Corporate HR manager to obtain temporary staff from contract agencies

                      § Carry out payment processing by calculating employee salary, distributing checks, and maintaining payroll records

                      § Prepare paperwork for human resources policies and procedures

                      § Process employees' requests for time off

                      § Manage the department's telephone center and address queries accordingly

                      § Prepare reports and presentations for internal communications

                      § Provide information on company operations to orient new employees

                      § Assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant data like absences, bonuses, and leaves

                      § Update human resources databases by inputting information on new hires, separations, vacations, and sick leaves

                      § Prepare passes, identification cards and badges for employees according to their ranks

                      § Remain visual on the production floor daily

                      § Document human resources actions by completing forms, logs, and records

                      § Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications.

                      Bilingual English and Spanish a plus
