The following essential job functions are performed as a Materials Manager.
Provides leadership and direction to the Materials team. Develops staffing plan, assigns tasks and monitors performance of the team.
Conducts assessments of team for gaps and provides training opportunities as required.
Responsible for all aspects of materials movement across all manufacturing sites and in-bound/out-bound trucking.
Provides proactive, outstanding levels of support to all stakeholders in the materials handling process.
Promotes a safe work environment by ensuring all safety policies, rules, and government regulations are followed.
Collaborates with other managers and staff to ensure JI policies, certifications and best practices are adhered to.
Adjusts stocking and support levels to meet operations requirements
Responsible for managing point-of-use stocking levels and maintaining levels of service. Communicates and coordinates closely with the Operations, Engineering and Purchasing teams to meet organizational goals.
Identifies opportunities to improve supply chain speed, efficiency, cost savings, and inventory levels.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum 4 years of experience in materials management.
4-year degree in supply chain or related experience preferred.
APICS or other materials management certification a plus.
Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED.
Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
