MSC is currently searching for a Senior Full Stack Developer to support our client at the National Institutes of Health. Duties and Responsibilities: The Senior Full Stack Developer (React / NodeJS / SQL) will work at the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) on the next version of Bookshelf Content Management System (CMS) to support scientific book content submissions into a free full-text archive of biomedical and life sciences literature at the U.S. National Institutes of Health(NIH)'s National Library of Medicine(NLM). Work in an Agile product team of in-house and remote developers, Product Owner, stakeholders, DevOps and UI/UX designer on Bookshelf CMS UI, data processing flows, user authentication, admin tools and data migration from the previous version of the CMS. Review the work of remote development team, build, deploy and test the application on-premises, coordinate with in-house NCBI developers to define, document and implement APIs for integration with internal production systems. Maintain and support XML content processing software used in production, learn new technologies, keep up with the internal systems, and share your knowledge with the team. Position Requirements: 3+ years of Full stack Web applications development using React / NodeJS / SQL (MS SQL, Postgres) Experience with relational database modeling, ORM, data migration Development experience in a Linux environment Scripting (Shell, Python) Git, SVN BS in Computer Science or scientific field (engineering, physics), or equivalent experience Excellent verbal and written communication skills, team player, quick learner Preferred Qualifications: Electronic publishing industry experience XML development experience (schema design, content validation, bulk processing tools, XSLT transforms) Experience working with remote development teams Windows C# / .Net development experience Experience with Python / Django web development framework Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful API design Experience with Cloud technologies: AWS, EC2, S3, RDS Experience with CI/CD pipelines, unit tests, integration and UI regression testing (Selenium) Medical Science & Computing is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
