The Department of Military and Emergency Medicine (MEM) at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU) in Bethesda, Maryland invites applications for the position of Research Assistant Professor or Research Associate Professor, Research Pathway, Non Tenure-Non Tenure Track. This position is aligned to the F. Edward Hébert School of Medicine (SoM) and is geographically located in Bethesda, Maryland.
The individual selected will serve as a Curriculum Researcher who will address all aspects of the SoM's military-unique curriculum (MUC) to continuously improve educational content, effectiveness of teaching and learning, and student assessment methodologies through evidence-based literature review and interpretation, exploration of educational initiatives, original scholarship of discovery, integration in educational research, and practical application on campus and out in the field. The focus will be on programmatic evaluation and assessment as part of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) of the MUC. Research should be designed to produce actionable information for impactful change.
Requires a minimum of Master's Degree in a medical educational, bio-behavioral, or biomedical scientific discipline with appropriate knowledge of statistical analyses. Graduate coursework in quantitative analyses, qualitative research design and analyses, survey design, assessment, and evaluation relevant to health professions education is essential. At least 10 years of research experience is expected. Experience working in or collaborating with the DoD is highly desirable.
Candidates with a PhD Degree and less than 10 years of post-graduate work will be considered.
