The selected candidate will provide communications-electronics (C-E) technical support for the following United States Special Operations Command units (USSOCOM): Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC), U.S.Army Special Operations Command (USASOC), Naval Special Warefare (NSW). Responsibilities will include Life Cycle Support (LCS) services for C4I systems, subsystems and communications equipment assigned in support of ongoing missions. These technical services will include technical services support in the troubleshooting, installation, integration, maintenance, repair, modification, evaluation, testing and training on the systems and equipment for the commands listed above.
The hourly rate for this position is set at $26.58 and is not negotiable.
Travel will be required to various U. S locations. Travel may be required to OCONUS locations including arduous duty areas and locations designated as Hazardous Duty by the U.S. State Department.
This position is located in Fort Walton Beach, FL. There is no relocation assistance available for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to Fort Walton Beach or surrounding areas.
Required Skills and Education
High School diploma and at least 6 years of related experience
U.S. military technical school for communications electronics repair or equivalent civilian training
U.S. military tactical communications experience, including operations, testing, troubleshooting and repair
Communications Electronics test equipment experience to include multimeters, wattmeters, antenna analyzers, communications systems analyzers, frequency counters and audio oscillators
Experience troubleshooting complex communications systems to the component level
Proficiency in soldering circuit boards, multi-pin connectors and radio frequency (RF) connectors
Experience with the fabrication of multi-conductor and RF cables
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively with internal and external customers, excellent customer relation skills
Ability to travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations
Ability to meet and maintain the certifications/qualifications for deployment travel to Hazardous Duty locations
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
Active security clearance and ability to maintain
Preferred Skills and Education
Ability to easily adapt to constantly changing technology, customer requirements and work environments
Ability to modify/fabricate metal fixtures necessary to support customer requirements
Ability to determine communications requirements, develop a master equipment list and complete the installation
Knowledge of computer networking
Ability to function without a cell phone during work hours
